UHL Libraries & Information Services have 4 categories of membership: full, student and external membership, plus reference access. The groups covered by each category are detailed below. Details on how to join UHL Libraries & information services and the services we offer to each membership category are included. Joining at one site means you are a member at all 3 sites. You can download a leaflet on our services here but please note that the actual services available to you will depend upon your membership category.

Full members

Employees of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust honorary contract holders
Employees of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (Leaflet detailing services for LPT staff)
Primary care staff offering services to NHS patients in Leicestershire and Rutland

If you are in this category, you can join by using our online registration form. Alternativley you can visit any of the libraries with your work ID badge to fill in a form. You can also find details of what services we offer to full members.

Student members

A medical student at the University of Leicester
A nursing or midwifery student at De Montfort University
Any student on placement at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust

To join the library, please come into one of the libraries with your student ID and fill in a registration form. You can also see the services that are on offer to you.

External members

Retired University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust staff
NHS staff, or those providing services to NHS patients, in Leicestershire
Other NHS staff in East Midlands, via the East Midlands Access Policy

To join the library, please come into one of the libraries with your work ID (where applicable) and fill in a registration form. You can also find out what we offer to external members.
