If Part 1 of our Systematic Review (SR) training has got you wanting more - this practical session is the one for you! This course aims to gives you hands-on experience with some of the online platforms used for systematic reviews, and to know where to go for help.

Course objectives

Outline
Following on from the principles discussed in Part 1, we'll help you to scope out and amend your research question using PubMed and PROSPERO. Then, we'll move on to searching Ovid Medline, looking at advanced searching techniques. To finish, we'll look at two popular systematic review platforms, Rayyan and Covidence, using for screening and managing results.

This session contains a break, and we aim to keep it relaxed and flexible to the needs of the group. You'll benefit from the guidance of two librarians in this session, where there is plenty of time to explore your own ideas in friendly environment.

Don't panic

Teaching materials
A handout is provided, although it is very brief as much of the session focusses on you getting hands-on experience!

You will be contacted in advance with instructions on how to access and create accounts for the various platforms required ahead of the session.

Target audience
Part 1 must be attended before this practical session, as several of the elements follow on. This course is not suitable for undergraduate students.

PLEASE NOTE: Limited additional spaces are available to those able to bring their own laptop. Please contact if fully booked.

Impact
This course is new and so we are still collecting impact data, but as with Part 1, past attendees report their confidence levels doubling on average following this session. Feedback has shown that attendees value the hands-on practice to better understand the SR process.
