Chemotherapy and radiotherapy

The resources on the Cancer page will be useful. In addition...

Charities for specific cancers may have information relating to chemotherapy or radiotherapy of that cancer. Search Google for:

chemotherapy [site or type of cancer]

or

radiotherapy [site or type of cancer].

Remember to check the quality of what you find - look for an Information Standard or a Health on the Net HONCode mark, or check who produces the information, why they have produced it, who for, and when, and ask yourself if it applies in the UK?

For chemotherapy drugs already available in the NHS, use the BNF or BNF for Children (there are links from the top corner of the NICE Evidence Search home page). Remember colleagues in Medicines Information (InSite page, and external page).

Two sites about radiotherapy are:

Bullet Action Radiotherapy
Information for patients on the different types of radiotherapy.

Bullet British Institute of Radiology
Information for patients about radiotherapy. Look under Patients & Public for information about having a scan, and the professionals that patients might meet.
